Huntington Park HS: Voted the cross country team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and posted a personal best time of 15:55 over a three-mile course… Spent three years on the cross country team, as well as three seasons on the track and field team and two on the soccer team… Helped the track team to an undefeated Eastern League championship while specializing in the 800 meters (2:01), 1600 meters (4:21) and 3200 meters (9:39)… Voted the track team’s MVP as a junior, as well as the MVP of the soccer team as a sophomore…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was posting his personal best time at the LA City Championships, along competing in the state cross country and state track and field championships… Would like to transfer to UCLA… His twin brother, Octavio (18), will be on the Cerritos soccer team this season… Likes to play soccer in his spare time… Has three other siblings – Carlos (27), Stephanie (21) and Wendy (20)… Is the son of Rafael Contreras and Maria Alvarez… Born in Mexico City, Mexico on February 14, 1994…..
