Although the Cerritos College women's basketball team posted a 45-34 South Coast Conference win at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Friday, their shooting woes continued to plague them. The Falcons, who snapped a two-game losing streak, converted only 25% of their shots, and went a stretch where they scored just two points over a 10-minute period. After a bye on Wednesday, Cerritos (14-12, 8-7) will close out their regular season with a 5:00 p.m. game against Pasadena City College at The Aviary. If the team has a chance at getting into the playoffs, they will need to beat the third place Lancers (20-6, 10-4).

Against LATT (3-16, 3-11), the Falcons led just 23-20 early in the second half, and 33-22 with 10 minutes left in the game. The shooting troubles affected the entire team, and it included missing second chance baskets, as Cerritos pulled down 21 offensive rebounds. They pressured LA Trade-Tech into 24 turnovers, but converted them into just six points.

Sophomore Angela Pena (Huntington Park College Ready Academy HS) led the team with 14 points and also added five rebounds, while sophomore Marissa Rendon (St. Paul HS) finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. The rest of the team connected on only 6-of-45 shots, while the Falcons were only 5-of-31 from three-point range.
