The Cerritos College women's basketball team posted a 58-46 win over Rio Hondo College in a non-conference game, which improved their season record to 5-2. The Falcons will now travel to the College of the Sequoias Tournament, with their first game against Chabot College set for 5:00 p.m. on November 29.
Welcoming sophomore guard Jesenia Rendon (Carson HS) back into the lineup, she responded with a season-high 23 points , which also included a team-high four assists. Cerritos led after each quarter, with Rendon contributing to the team's success against the Roadrunners. Coming off the bench, freshman Sarah Hernandez (St. Paul HS) posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore guard Serena Rendon (Carson HS) added 13 points and four rebounds, which included a team-high three three-pointers.
Sophomore Jessica Gomez (Legacy HS) and Carolina Cuevas (Legacy HS) combined for nine points and eight rebounds in the win.
