After picking up their fourth win in a row with a 55-35 decision over El Camino College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's basketball team has a showdown with Long Beach City College next Wednesday. A share of the South Coast Conference South Division title will be on the line, as the Falcons (12-13, 6-1) will host the rival Vikings at 5:00 p.m.

In their win over the Warriors, Cerritos received a balanced scoring attack, as four of the five starters scored in double figures. The Falcons didn't take their first lead in the game until sophomore Jayden Estrada (Anaheim HS) scored four straight points to put the team in front, 10-8 with 2:12 left in the first quarter. El Camino took an 11-10 lead into the second quarter until Cerritos went on a 21-2 run to finish out the first half.

Freshman Natalie Poppin (La Habra HS) drained a pair of three-pointers in the quarter, while Estrada scored seven points to help build the strong lead.

The 31-13 advantage at intermission hovered near 20 points for parts of the third quarter until El Camino got to within 43-30 early in the fourth quarter. Poppin put an end to that with a three-pointer, while Estrada added another one later in the stanza.

By the end of the game, Estrada led the way with 16 points, along with six rebounds and three steals, with freshman Lauryn Nakamura (Cypress HS) accounting for 13 points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists. Poppin, who had a trio of three-pointers, ended the game with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists, with freshman Mia Avalos (Pioneer HS) turning in 10 points and three steals. Freshman Jazzmin Briggs (Lakewood HS) came off the bench to haul down 13 rebounds and added four steals, with sophomore Francine Carrillo (Cerritos HS) contributing five rebounds.
