Gene Choi

A former Cerritos College wrestler, Gene Choi is in his ninth season with the staff. Choi, who completed his college career at San Francisco State University, where he wrestled at 174 pounds, finished eighth at the NCAA Division II Championships and earned All-American status. In his senior year, Choi also finished third at the Super-Regionals/Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships (RMAC) and went 22-21 on the year. He was also selected to the Academic All-National Wrestling Coaches Association Team and placed in the top five in three other tournaments. As a junior, he tturned a sixth-place performance in the 174-pound weight class at the NCAA Division II Super Regional 4/RMAC Championships.

While with the Falcons from 2006-07, Choi placed fifth at the State Championships at 174 pounds his senior year, while he was also third in the Southern California Championships. In his freshman season, Choi placed fourth at 174 pounds in the Southern California Championships.

A graduate of North Torrance High School, where he was coached by Falcon head coach Donny Garriott, Choi was a two-time Ocean League finalist and CIF qualifier.
