Cerritos College Swimming (2012): Earned All-American honors by coming in second place at the State Championships in the 500-yard freestyle, sixth in the 200-yard IM and ninth in the 200-yard freestyle… Won the South Coast Conference championship in all three events… Set new school records in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.64), 1000-yard freestyle (10:59.22), 1650-yard freestyle (18:28.42) and 200-yard IM (2:13.07)… Added nine first place finishes in invitationals throughout the season…..

Cerritos College Water Polo (2012): Named All-American, 2nd Team All-State and was a 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection… Led the team with 91 goals, along with 14 assists and 44 steals… Her 91 goals were the fourth most in a single season, while her 138 career goals also ranks fourth in school history… Recorded a career-high seven goals against El Camino College and scored six times against Mt. San Antonio… Also scored six goals with four steals against Los Angeles Pierce… Had five goals and three steals against Palomar College, along with five goals and a pair of steals against Pasadena City College… Recorded five goals against Diablo Valley College, Rio Hondo College and Cypress College… Registered a season-high five steals against San Joaquin Delta College and also posted four steals against Orange Coast College…..

Cerritos College Water Polo (2011): Voted the college’s Freshman Athlete of the Year… Named 2nd Team All-Southern California and 1st Team All-South Coast Conference… Finished third on the team with 47 goals and added 14 assists and 49 steals… Scored a season-high four goals against Palomar College, Fullerton College and San Diego Mesa College… Also recorded three goals against Long Beach City, American River College (twice) and Ohlone College… Posted a season-high three assists against Chaffey College and Santa Monica College, while her four steals against El Camino College were a season best…..

Cerritos HS: Named her school’s Athlete of the Year after earning 1st Team All-CIF, 1st Team All-San Gabriel Valley league and her team’s Most Valuable Player in water polo… While on the swimming team, she was a CIF Finals Qualifier four years in a row and was named her team’s MVP as a senior and junior… Specialized in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59), 200-yard IM (2:15) and 500-yard freestyle (5:20)… Helped the swimming and water polo teams win four straight league championships… Selected the CIF Player of the Year as a junior in water polo, as well as 1st Team All-CIF, 1st Team all-league and her team’s MVP… Led the team to the CIF Championship her junior and sophomore seasons…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was posting her personal best times in swimming… Aspires to be a physical therapist… Her brother PJ (21) was an All-American water polo player and swimmer for the Falcons and his now swimming at the University of Hawaii, while her sister Raquel (22) will be her teammate this season… Hobbies include eating and sleeping… Nicknamed “Kat”… Is the daughter of Paul and Susan Gabayeron… Born in Lakewood, CA on January 4, 1993…..
