In their lone home meet of the season, the Cerritos College women's swimming team came in first place in all 14 events and posted a 169-45 win over Chaffey College on Friday morning. Next Friday, the Falcons will travel to Long Beach City College to take on the Vikings and Pasadena City College in another South Coast Conference meet.

Both Sydney Romero (Cerritos HS/Azusa Pacific University) and Camila Oliveira (Cerritos HS) won three individual races and swam a leg in a winning relay race. The morning started with Romero, Valeria Barboza (Paramount HS), Oliveira and Eleonor Curiel (Downey HS) posting a first place time in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:10.31.

Romero continued by being the field by a minutes in the 1000-yard freestyle, as she recorded a time of 12:45.15, while her time of 2:19.75 in the 200-yard freestyle took place in the very next race. She closed out her day by winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.21, with Ana Sanchez (La Mirada HS) in second place at 1:14.88.

As for Oliveira, she posted a top time of 27.38 in the 50-yard freestyle, while Sanchez was a distant second place at 32.80. She pulled away from the field in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:19.58, while Oliveira capped off her day by winning the 200-yard IM with a clocking of 2:36.44. Teammate Sophia Wainwright (Cerritos HS) came in second place at 2:58.23.

Both Curiel and Fiona Glynn (Cerritos HS) won two individual races, which included Curiel being the only entry in the 200-yard butterfly and finished the race in 3:02.09. She and Jennifer Sotelo (Bellflower HS) were the top two finishers in the 100-yard butterfly, as they finished in 1:16.26 and 1:29.36, respectively. Glynn won both backstroke races, as her times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:17.22) and 200-yard backstroke (2:56.47) were the best on the day.

Wainwright and Barboza were the only two swimming the 100-yard breaststroke, with Wainwright (1:26.35) coming in first place and Barboza (1:31.36) in second place. Barboza won the 200-yard breaststroke in 3:16.35, with teammate Kayla Soleymani (Cerritos HS) the only other entry and turned in a time of 3:59.46.

The meet ended with Glynn, Wainwright, Sanchez and Sotelo winning the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.53.
