Competing against four-year schools at the Beach Invitational, the Cerritos College women's track and field team fared well over the weekend. With the meet split up into three separate categories, the Falcons had some of their athletes go up against only community college schools, while others displayed their talents in front of universities.

In the community college events, Cerritos won four events, with sophomore sprinter Alona Davis (Bellflower HS) taking first place in the 100 meters at 12.17, while her time of 24.98 in the 200 meters earned her a second place finish. She was joined by freshmen Deziray White (Vista Murrieta HS), Isis Johnson (Bellflower HS) and Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS) to win the 4x400-meter relay with a clocking of 4:14.15. The Falcons also fared well in the 4x100-meter relay, as White, Davis, Johnson and freshman Riyanna Jackson (Mayfair HS) posted a second place time of 50.89.

Sophomore Dalia Bell (Carson HS) was a two-time winner, as she bested the field in the 100-meter HH with a time of 15.38, while her long jump of 5.19 meters was the best on the day. Sophomore Keanna Daramola (Warren HS) finished with a third place distance of 4.85 meters. White also took four place in the 400 meters at 1:01.02, with Barrera running the 800 meters in 2:28.27, which also earned her a fourth place finish.

In the throws events, which included four-year universities, sophomore Tanya Reyes (Warren HS) placed fourth in the hammer with a distance of 53.81 meters, while her shot put of 11.54 put her in 11th place. Her hammer throw was a personal best and now sits as the second best distance in school history. As for freshman Angelina Escobar (Bell Gardens HS) in the discus, her throw of 37.72 meters put her in 13th place overall.
