Cerritos College Track & Field (2012): Competed in the 1500 meters (5:13.69), 3000 meters (11:19.93), 5000 meters (19:54.78) and 10,000 meters (42:24.57)…..

El Rancho HS: Was a three-time 1st Team All-Del Rio League selection and earned the Athlete of the Month Award as a senior and junior… Helped the team win the league championship… Received the Coaches Award her senior season and their Most Improved Runner Award as a sophomore… Posted a personal best time of 18:34 over a three-mile course and 19:54 in a 5K race… Spent three years on the cross country team and four seasons on the track and field team… Was a CIF qualifier in the 1600 meters her senior and sophomore years and led them to the league title her senior and junior years…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when she took second place at the Del Rio League finals in the 1600 meters (5:19.34) to be a CIF qualifier and when she placed fourth at the Don Bosco Tech Invitational in cross country… Would like to transfer to UC Irvine and aspires to be a pediatrician… Her father was on the track and soccer teams at El Rancho High… Hobbies include going to Disneyland… Has two siblings – April (24) and Genelle (17)… Is the daughter of Danilo and Jennifer Melendez… Born in Whittier, CA on January 14, 1993…..
