Bryan Ramos begins his eighth season on the Falcon coaching staff. In his first year, he helped the men’s team finish in ninth place at the CCCAA State Championships, while the women’s team came in fifth place. In 2021, men’s cross country team sent one representative to the CCCAA State Championships after a 15th place finish at the Southern California Championships. At the conclusion of the season, Ramos was named the Southern California Assistant Coach of the Year. On the women’s side, the team took eighth place at the State Championships after a fourth place showing at the SoCal Championships and came in second place at the South Coast Conference Championships.

Prior to coming to Cerritos, Ramos spent nine years helping coach the Glendale College women’s cross country team to three California Community College Athletic Association state championships (2007, 2009, and 2011) and five second place finishes. On the men’s side, they came in second place at the state championships in 2012 and finished in third in 2009. The women’s team also won the Western State Conference championship in each of his nine seasons, with the men capturing six titles.

In addition to his responsibilities with the cross country team, Ramos also coaches the distance runners on the track and field teams. In 2013, he was honored by being named the California Community College Cross Country & Track Coaches Association Women’s Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year.

As an athlete at Glendale College, Ramos was the co-captain of the cross country team that won the state championship in 1995. He moved on to Cal Poly Pomona, where he experienced a great deal of success. In his junior season, Ramos finished in 13th place at the NCAA Division II West Region Cross Country Championships, while the team won the championship. They also finished in third place at the NCAA Division II Championships. He followed that season by helping the team win the West Region championship and placed seventh as an individual. The Broncos also came in seventh place at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Ramos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Cal Poly Pomona in 1999 and his Master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2010. Ramos, 46, is single and lives in Montrose.
