In a season where the Cerritos College football team posted a 8-3 record and won the Golden State Bowl, they have announced that seven of their sophomores have signed with four-year schools as mid-year transfers. With upwards of 20 more players who can sign by the end of the semester, the Falcons continue to be one of the leaders in the state for players to receive scholarships.

Those who have signed with their new schools and are already attending classes include tight end Ainslie Johnson (University of Illinois), wide receiver Justin Caines (University of Rhode Island), defensive end Garren Jackson (University of Idaho), defensive tackle Garron Featherston (Southeastern Louisiana University), offensive lineman Giovanni Chanes (Benedictine (IL) University), defensive end Malcom McAllister (Benedictine (IL) University), linebacker Brandon Moody (McKendree (IL) University) and from the 2013 team defensive end Jason Callier (Benedictine (IL) University).

(99) Garron Featherston signed a scholarship with Southeastern Louisiana University Johnson was a 1st Team All-Northern Conference selection that caught 17 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. A strong pass blocker, he helped open holes for the Falcons running backs that combined to rush for 1,860 yards on the season. A 2nd Team selection, Caines finished second on the team with 30 receptions for 478 yards and tied for the team lead with nine touchdowns. He was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player in the bowl game with his four catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 3:53 left in the fourth quarter. Chanes was another member of the offensive line that helped the team rush for almost 1,900 yards and pass for 2,479 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Turning in strong seasons on defense were both Featherson, Moody and Jackson. Finishing second on the team with 41 tackles, Featherston recorded 7 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 1/3 quarterback sacks, while he also forced a fumble. Moody had 27 tackles and 2 1/2 tackles for loss on the year, while Jackson was a valuable part of the special teams and also saw action at both defensive end and linebacker. He posted 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and fumble recovery. As for McAllister, he recorded 20 tackles with two tackles for loss and was one of the team's top players coming off the bench.
