When freshman Michael Licon (Fullerton HS) converted his penalty kick in the 87th minute against Oxnard College for a 3-2 lead, it looked as though the Cerritos College men's team would lock down their first win of the season. But the Condors were able to score a goal in the 90th minute and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. The Falcons (0-1-1), still looking for their first win of the season, will now travel north to compete in the very competitive Hartnell Tournament. They will open with Fresno City College at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

Cerritos jumped on board in the seventh minute when freshman Ulysses Rosales netted his first goal of the season. Oxnard (0-0-1) countered with goals in the 15th minute and then took the lead in the 57th minute when Raul Gonzalez worked his way through the defense and scored on freshman goalkeeper Eduardo Valdovinos (Long Beach Millikan HS).

In the 83rd minute, freshman Mark Sanchez (Westview, AZ HS) scored on a free kick from just outside the box. With the Oxnard players stacking a wall to the right side, Sanchez found a hole along the left side and bent his shot over the top and past the keeper to tie the game. Cerritos looked to have secured the victory when they received a penalty kick in the 87th minute. Licon stepped up and drilled a low line drive into the left side of the net.

However, Oxnard had enough time on the clock to find an equalizer. After Valdovinos (four saves) made a great save on a long shot, a set piece found it's way into the net for the game-tying goal.
