Falcons play their third straight scoreless game

Although the Cerritos College men's soccer team hasn't scored a goal in their last three games, they have still held all five of their opponents off the scoreboard, as well. The Falcons (2-0-3) and Golden West College played to a scoreless tie on Friday, which also ties the school record for their fifth consecutive shutout. Next Friday, the team will host Oxnard College at 4:00 p.m. in another non-conference game.

Freshman goalie Jordan Aldama (North Torrance HS) was tested several times on the day and came through with six saves to post his fourth save of the short season. By contrast, Cerritos did their best on offense and recorded four shots on goal in each half, but were turned away.

Sophomores Luis Garcia (La Habra HS) and Jose Rivera (Torrance HS) shared the team lead with three shots on goal apiece. Defensively, sophomores Jose Ponce (San Pedro HS) and Hector Jimenez (South East HS), along with freshmen Luis Lira (La Puente HS) and Eric Payeras (Connections Academy HS) were instrumental in helped the Falcons with another clean scoresheet.
