For the third time this season, the Cerritos College women's basketball team was defeated by Mt. San Antonio College. Facing the host Mounties (18-1) in a South Coast Conference crossover game on Friday night, the Falcons (13-6) dropped a 79-60 decision. In their other two previous meetings, Mt. SAC posted tournament wins. Cerritos will now host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College in a 5:00 p.m. conference crossover game on Wednesday.

Leading the team on the night was freshman Allyson O'Brien (La Habra HS), who scored 17 points, as she made 7-of-12 shots. Coming off the bench to contribute 15 points was sophomore Janel Oliver (Bellflower HS), who netted all seven of her free throws. The team was held to 40% shooting from the field, while the Mounties hit on 51% of their shots. It was the 27 turnovers by Cerritos that hurt their chances at recording their first win of the year against Mt. SAC.

The duo of sophomores Verenice Gomez (Whittier HS) and Clarissa Hernandez (St. Paul HS) each finished with eight points. Although she was held off the scoring column, sophomore Miranda Valentin (Bellflower HS) pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
