The Cerritos College women's tennis team remained undefeated on the year after they defeated host San Diego Mesa College, 7-2 on Friday. The Falcons (5-0) will now travel to Saddleback College on Tuesday for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference match.

Most of the singles ladder moved one up position and they all recorded wins for the Falcons. In three of the straight set wins, Cerritos earned 7-5 wins and then rode that momentum into the second set. The tandem of freshmen Valentina Polonyi (Altisa, Hungary) and Tiffany Sanchez (Long Beach Wilson HS) earned 7-5 wins in their #2 and #3 positions, respectively in their first set. They both went on to win their matches after 6-0 wins in the second set. As for freshman Danielle Pastor (Bishop Montgomery HS), she posted a 7-5 win in the first set and then handed Stephanie Begle a 6-3 loss in the second set.

Playing her first collegiate match, freshman Elizabeth Aceves (Downey HS) earned a 6-1, 6-1 win in singles play and then teamed with Pastor for an 8-6 doubles win. Sophomore Jovana Milosevic (High School of Business and Law, Belgrade, Serbia/Hillsborough, FL CC) swept past Thailina Saetern, 6-0, 6-0 in singles and then joined Polonyi for an 8-2 doubles win.
