W. Water Polo: Team posts conference shutout

For the second time this season, the Cerritos College women's water polo team recorded a shutout win. On Wednesday, the Falcons (15-9, 7-1) earned a 19-0 South Coast Conference victory over host Los Angeles Trade-Tech. The team will now prepare for the South Coast Conference Tournament, which will take place from November 3-5 at Pasadena City College.

Cerritos scored 10 goals in the first period, with the duo of freshman Jackie Oliveros (Gahr HS) and sophomore Janay Williams (California HS) each scoring three times, with sophomore Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) posting assists on three of the team's goals in the first eight minutes.

The scoring continued in the second quarter, with freshman Alyssa Parsley (Lakewood HS) earning two of her team-leading five goals in the quarter and followed with freshman Lindsay De Haas (Hacienda Heights wilson HS) accounting for the team's final four goals, which also gave her five on the day. Oliveros and Williams finished with three each, while freshman Isabella Sierra (California HS) assisted on four goals on the day.

In goal, the pairing of freshman Ivanna Tostado (Troy HS) and Dulce Medina (Paramount HS) combined for seven saves, as they combined for their second shutout of the year.
