W. Water Polo: Six players named to All-Conference teams

After a third place finish in the South Coast Conference, and their first post-season berth in four seasons, the Cerritos College women's water polo team had six players named to the all-conference teams. A pair of players were named to each of the three teams, as the Falcons finished the year with a 16-11 record.

Named to the 1st Team were sophomore Vanessa Hinojosa (Bell Gardens HS) and freshman Isabella Sierra (California HS), while the sophomore tandem of Mikaela Padilla (Schurr HS) and Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) earned 2nd Team recognition. Added to the Honorable Mention team were freshman Elisa Prohroff (Schurr HS) and sophomore Jenny Parra (California HS).

Hinojosa, a two-time 1st Team selection, finished third on the team with 45 goals, while adding 16 assists and 31 steals, with Sierra leading the Falcons in goals (65), assists (47) and steals (87). Sierra finished fifth in the state in steals and was tied for eighth in the state in assists. Padilla was named to the 2nd Team for the second season in a row and was second on the team with 51 goals, to go along with 25 assists and 40 steals, with Owens recording 66 steals, which were second on the team, as well as 17 goals and 35 assists. This was also her second year being named to the 2nd Team.

A 1st Team choice her freshmen year, Parra ended the year fourth on the team with 21 goals, while she recorded 24 assists and 45 steals. Prohroff contributed 13 goals, 21 assists and 31 steals for the Falcons this season.
