Former Cerritos College record-breaking wide receiver Mike Willie has been signed by the Los Angeles KISS of the Arena Football League and has made an impact as a two-way player. Signed back on March 10, Willie has seen time at wide receiver, with most of his playing time coming as a defensive back. His route to the field with the KISS has been tumultuous, as he was placed on the inactive list three weeks after signing, then the injured list two weeks after that. Willie was placed for reassignment on May 14, but then assigned to the team four days later.

In a 43-40 loss to Orlando on June 5, he led the team with 11.5 tackles (11 solo) and is currently fourth on the team with 19.5 total tackles. Willie has also caught one pass for seven yards.

Willie signed with Arizona State University after a record-breaking career with the Falcons (2008-09) and in two seasons with the Sun Devils, he caught 72 passes for 897 yards. He was signed to the San Diego Chargers practice squad in 2012 and was placed on the injured list for the 2013 season after a pre-season game injury sidelined him for the year. Willie was released and invited to the Baltimore Ravens mini-camp in 2014 but was released and signed with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League in 2015 for a short period of time. After his release, he was on the practice squad with the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2015.

As a freshman for the Falcons in 2008, Willie finished second on the team with 37 receptions for 346 yards and two touchdowns. He amped up those numbers his sophomore season and pulled in 39 passes for a then-school record 760 yards and was named 2nd Team all-conference. His career 1,106 receiving yards was the second most in school history at the time (now third), while he finished with 76 receptions, which is still tied for the third most.
