One of the cornerstones of the Cerritos College offensive line during the mid-70s, George Beadell, passed away on August 27 at the age of 68. An All-South Coast Conference center during his sophomore year in 1975, Beadell went on to play football at San Jose State University and served as a team captain for both programs. He later signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers, where he spent two seasons.

Beadell helped anchor a Falcons offensive line and pass blocked for quarterback Jim Conley and was a lead blocker for running back Marty Cambell, as the offense amassed 2,933 yards in 1975. In his freshman season, Beadell led the way for Craig Scoggins to rush for 606 yards.

After graduating from San Jose State University and playing for the 49ers, Beadell went to work in pharmaceutical sales, where he was one of the top sales representatives. But just like a good run blocker, he was able to make a quick cut and changed careers, as he joined the pipe fitters union.

Beadell is survived by his daughter Natalia, as well as grandchildren Zane, Emma, Ella and Christopher, sister Georgia as well as his mother Peggy. Services for Beadell will be held on Saturday, September 2 at 3:00 p.m. in Murietta. It will be just three hours before the 2023 Falcon team opens their season at home against Antelope Valley College.
