Softball: Pair of former Falcons excel at Mayville State University

When they were members of the Cerritos College softball team from 2011-12, Courtney Priddie and Alexxa Sanabria were key members of a pair of teams that advanced to the playoffs. They both signed with Mayville State (ND) University, an NAIA school. In their junior year, Sanabria was named the team's Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Offensive Player on the field, while she earned an academic scholarship for her work in the psychology department. As for Priddie, she was named All-Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) - Frontier All-Conference for her play on the field.

Sanabria batted .365 on the season with two home runs and 25 RBI, while Priddle led the team in batting (.432), home runs (6), doubles (7), hits (32), runs (28), walks (10) and was second on the team with 19 RBI.

While with the Falcons Sanabria earned the Nancy Kelly Athletic Scholarship, while also being named 1st Team All-Southern California and 1st Team All-South Coast Conference. As a sophomore, she batted .408 with four home runs, 41 RBI, 17 doubles and a .662 slugging percentage after a freshman year where she hit at a .349 clip with 12 doubles and 33 RBI. As for Priddie, she hit .230 with two home runs and 15 RBI to go along with eight stolen bases and scored 29 runs. That came on the heels of hitting .333 as a freshman with two home runs and 21 RBI with five stolen bases. Priddle was named 2nd Team All-SCC as a sophomore.
