The Cerritos College softball team spread out their scoring in their 8-0 South Coast Conference win over Pasadena City College on Thursday. The Falcons (25-8, 14-2) scored runs in five of the seven innings, while sophomore pitcher Jamie Ramirez (El Rancho HS) tossed a two-hitter to help the team maintain their one-game lead in the conference. The team will host Cypress College at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference game.

The scoring got underway in the top of the first inning, as Cerritos was the recipient of three walks, while collecting just two hits. A pair of walks and an infield hit by Ramirez set up an RBI single by freshman catcher Krystal Purkey (Gahr HS), with sophomore shortstop Stephanie Olivas (Warren HS) adding an bases loaded walk to account for the second run.

Olivas added an RBI double in the third inning, with sophomore outfielder Adrianna Hernandez (Santa Fe HS) driving in freshman second baseman Monique Ramirez (Torrance HS) with a base hit in the fourth inning. Monique Ramirez led off the inning with a walk and stole second base to get her into scoring position.

Hernandez clubbed a two-run home run in the sixth inning, while Monique Ramirez brought in the final run of the day with an RBI infield out.  Eight different players had hits for the Falcons on the day, with sophomore third baseman Ariana Mejia (Gahr HS) and sophomore outfielder Danah Vasquez (Santa Fe HS) leading with two each.
