With the outcome of the match down to the final weight, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team needed a pin to claim the Southern California Conference championships. Taking on host Mt. San Antonio College, the Falcons recorded a regulation win in the final match, but needed a pin to pull off the team win and ended up dropping a 22-21 score. The team returns on Saturday for the Mt. San Antonio Tournament. It was the second loss of the season to Mt. SAC this year.

In the 207-pound match, freshman Raven Ross (Long Beach Poly HS) needed to pin Brianna Macias, but ended up posting a 4-1 win. The Falcons worked their way back into the match, thanks to pins from both sophomore Vida Beckel (Cypress HS) at 160 pounds and freshman Kinsey Konrad (Redondo Union HS) at 180 pounds.

The only other Cerritos wrestler to record a win on the day was freshman Megan Sognefest (University HS), who earned a 10-0 win at 110 pounds.
