It was a stellar season for Cerritos College sophomore running back Elijhaa Penny (Norwalk HS/College of the Sequoias), who capped off his year by being named 1st team All-American, as well as 1st Team All-California Region IV. Penny, who was also voted the Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, finished the year rushing for 1,338 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Joining Penny on the All-California Region IV Team were sophomore center Robert Chism (Downey HS) and sophomore defensive tackle David Moala (Serra HS), who were both unanimous all-conference selections.

The 20 rushing touchdowns is also a single-season school record, while he also added a receiving touchdown. In a win over Palomar College, Penny ran for 262 yards, which is also the second most in a game behind Jermaine Whiten's 308 yards in 2002 against College of the Canyons.

At the conclusion of the football season, Chism competed on the wrestling team and earned All-American honors at 285 pound when he came in fourth place at the CCCAA State Championships.
