In a rare occurrence, the Cerritos College men's tennis team did not lose a game in their 9-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Victor Valley College on Tuesday. The win improved the Falcons record to 15-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. They will host NCAA Division III Amherst (MA) College at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday before traveling north to compete in the Fresno Tournament.

The singles lineup saw several players competing on the ladder in positions they are not usually listed for a match. At the top of the ladder, freshman Aleks Trifunovic (Katrinelunds Gymnasium, Sweden) improved to 3-0 in that spot, while sophomore Mark Antoniuk (W. 124 School, Russia) is now 2-0 in the #2 position. Sophomore Edgar Munoz (Paramount HS) earned his first win in the #3 spot, with freshman Kyle Konishi (Mayfair HS) improving to 3-0 in the #4 position. Sophomore David Evans (Long Beach Millikan HS) is now 3-1 in the #5 position, with freshman Derik Dizon (Mayfair HS) improving to 4-0 at #6.

Evans and Munoz paired up for the first time in doubles play, while Trifunovic and freshman James Zhang (Shenzhen Luohu Foreign Language School, China) are now 10-2 as a tandem. Konishi teamed with Dizon for the second time and record their second win.
