Looking to become the second Cerritos College men's tennis doubles team in the last three years to reach the finals of the CCCAA State Championship match, the Falcon freshman duo came up short on Sunday morning. Seeded #2, the pairing of Oleksandr Krasnov (School 106, Ukraine) and Nikita Katsnelson (Odessa Gymnasium No. 1, Ukraine) were defeated in the semifinals by #4-seeded Bruno Figlia and Scott Paz of Irvine Valley College, 3-6, 2-6.

Krasnov reached the semifinals of the singles competition on Saturday before dropping a three-set match, while Katsnelson was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The two were looking to join Nathan Eshmade and Amadi Kagoma, who won the CCCAA State Doubles championship in 2014. The loss by Krasnov and Katsnelson ends the season for the Falcon tennis team.
