With seven wrestlers advancing to their respective championship matches, and three winning individual titles, the Cerritos College wrestling team easily outdistanced their competition to win the Southern California Regional championship on Saturday night. The Falcons compiled 164 team points to easily pull away from second place Mt. San Antonio College, who finished with 104 team points. Cerritos also advanced 11 wrestlers to the CCCAA State Championship, which will take place next weekend at Cuesta College.

This is the first year a school can advance up to 12 wrestlers out of the 10 weight classifications. The Falcons will have two entries at 197 pounds and 285 pounds, while they will not have a representative at 165 pounds.
