W. Water Polo: Falcons get goals from 10 players in win

In a rare game on a Monday, the Cerritos College women's water polo team received their best offensive balance in a 23-4 South Coast Conference win over El Camino College. The Falcons (4-6, 2-0) got goals from 10 different players and posted 22 steals over the Warriors. The team will get a big test on Wednesday when they travel to Mt. San Antonio College (9-1, 2-0) for a 3:00 p.m. conference game.

Cerritos jumped out early against El Camino and held a 6-1 lead after the first period, which swelled to 10-3 by halftime. The team got stronger, while the Warriors wore down as the progressed, with the Falcons scoring eight goals in the fourth period, while keeping their opponents from finding the back of the net.

Sophomore Breanna Zuniga (California HS) led the balanced scoring attack with four goals, while the trio of freshmen Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) and Vanessa Hinojosa (Bell Gardens HS), along with sophomore Lucila Davies (Santa Fe HS) each scored three times. Freshman Jenny Parra (Schurr HS) recorded five steals, with Owens and freshman Maria Figueroa (Schurr HS) both posted four steals. Sophomore goalie Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) finished with three blocks in the win.
