On Wednesday in a South Coast Conference match at Mt. San Antonio College, the Cerritos College women's water polo team suffered a 21-6 loss. It was the first conference loss for the Falcons (4-7, 2-1), who will now compete in the San Diego Mesa Tournament over the weekend. Their games on Friday will take place at Miramar College, with games against the host Jets at 1:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00 p.m. match against San Joaquin Delta College.

In the loss to the Mounties, Cerritos received single goals from six different players, while freshman Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) led the team with three steals. The teams were tied, 3-3 after the first period, but after that, turnovers hurt the Falcons the rest of the way. The Falcons turned the ball over 21 times on the day, while they struggled to get shots on goal, netting just 22 for the game.

Sophomore goalie Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) made five blocks in the game, and even took two of the team's shots, with one resulting in a goal off a rebound.
