After fighting back from a three-run deficit, the Cerritos College baseball team dropped a 6-5, 10-inning South Coast Conference decision to visiting LA Harbor College on Thursday. The Falcons (13-24, 7-12) were looking for their third win in a row, and will close out their three-game series with the Seahawks on Saturday at noon in Wilmington.

The team's comeback started in the bottom of the sixth inning. Freshman shortstop Ramon Bramasco (Cathedral HS) led off with a bunt single and moved to second base when sophomore second baseman Derrick Edwards (Mary Star of the Sea HS) drew a walk. A bunt single by freshman first baseman Jesus Mercado (St. John Bosco HS) loaded the bases for freshman third baseman Jorge Rodriguez (Bellflower HS), who drew a run-scoring walk.

Freshman outfielder Rolando Nichols (Serra HS) then cleared the bases with a three-run triple to give the Falcons a 5-4 lead. LA Harbor tied the game in to top of the sixth inning with an unearned run off relief pitcher Edgar Velasquez (Montebello HS).

Cerritos came close to taking the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning when they got runners on first and second with one out. But both runners were stranded. As for the Seahawks, they loaded the bases in the top of the ninth inning, but Velasquez got JJ Duarte to fly out to end the threat.

LA Harbor finally broke through in the top of the 10th inning when David Ramirez doubled home Anthony Garcia with what turned out to be the winning run. Bramasco led off the bottom of the 10th inning with a base hit, but could not be brought around and the Falcons dropped the extra-inning game.
