The Cerritos College football team, champions of the Northern Division the last two years and Southern California Championship Game participants, open their 2012 season at Falcon Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1 against Los Angeles Harbor College. The Falcons, looking to improve on their 0-2 start in 2011, dropped a 28-23 decision to the Seahawks last season. The team also lost 27 players to graduation, with 16 of them receiving scholarships.

The team does welcome back a pair of All-Conference offensive linemen - center Kent Collins (Los Alamitos HS) and tackle Sean Rubalcava (St. Paul HS), while five starters on defense and two on offense also return. On defense, sophomore defensive tackle Kyle Peko (La Habra HS) is being recruited by every major college, with the quarterbacking battle coming down to sophomore Morgan Fennell (Long Beach Poly HS) and freshman Rene Medina (St. John Bosco HS).

Tickets for the game are $5 for general admission and $3 for children under 12, senior citizens and students without ID. Those students with vaild ID from either Cerritos or Los Angeles Harbor, as well as college employees with a valid staff ID are admitted free with one guest.
