Cerritos College Men’s Swimming (2016): Spent the season as a red-shirt…..

Cerritos College Men’s Swimming (2015): Qualified for the CCCAA State Championships in two individual events and four relay events… Came in 10th place in the 100-yard backstroke (53.61) and 11th in the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.16)… Swam a leg of the conference championship 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley, 200-yard medley, 400-yard freestyle relay teams… Individually, he also finished third in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM (2:00.90) at the conference championships… The 400-yard medley relay team set a new school record time of 3:33.43 at the conference championships, while they finished in 12th place at the state championships, along with the 200-yard freestyle relay team… The other two relay teams were unable to compete due to an illness to one of their swimmers… Also competed in the 50-yard freestyle (22.28), 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly (57.44), 200-yard freestyle (1:51.05) and 500-yard freestyle (5:22.78)…..

Villa Park HS: Voted his team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and junior… Helped lead the team to two league championships… Specialized in the 100-yard backstroke (53.0)…..

Personal: Is working on a minor in communications… Hobbies include surfing… Has two siblings – Victoria (21) and Brendan (16)… Is the son of Ty Ly and Huong Nguet… Born on July 7, 1996…..
