In their first South Coast Conference dual meet of the season, the Cerritos College men's swimming team suffered losses to both El Camino College (133-129) and host Mt. San Antonio College (230-41). After taking a week off, the Falcons will host Chaffey College at 10:00 a.m. on March 14 in their only home meet of the season.

Against the Warriors, the Falcons picked up five wins, which included the 200-yard medley relay team of Ben Neppl (Long Beach Millikan HS), Aiden Parra (California HS), Leo Mora and Nick Chieng (Downey HS) recording a time of 1:50.09, while three of the four won individual events.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Neppl defeated all of the El Camino swimmers with a time of 1:03.14, with Chieng registering a first place time in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.48. In fact the Falcons took the first three spots in the race, as Diego Campos (Downey HS) took second in 23.51 and Mora was third at 23.80. Parra won the 200-yard breaststroke against El Camino with a time of 2:39.06.

Not part of the 200-yard medley relay team, Johan Gaytan (Downey HS) was able to post a time of 2:30.54, which was ahead of all El Camino swimmers. Gaytan also had a pair of second place results in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.69) and 1000-yard freestyle (11:34.63), while Neppl placing second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:26.63. Parra was also second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a clocking of 1:09.79, while Christian Acosta (Schurr HS) had the second place time against the Warriors in 2:06.11. Max Lucero (Whittier HS) also finished in second place in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.59.

The top finishing place against the Mounties was Parra and his time in the 100-yard breastroke, while the 400-yard relay team of Chieng, Mora, Isaiah Wright (Whittier HS) and Campos posted a time of 3:29.10, which was third against Mt. SAC.
