Cerritos College Track & Field (2023): Competed in the 800 meters (2:13.26), 1500 meters (4:28.56) and 3000 meter steeplechase (12:38.84) during the season…..

Cerritos College Men’s Cross Country (2023): Finished in 71st place in a time of 26:03.0 at the South Coast Conference Championships and posted a time of 28:57.1 to place 232nd at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational… Posted a 97th place time of 23:55.8 at the San Diego Mesa Invitational, while his time of 23:47.9 put him in 10th place at the Coach Downey Classic… At the Golden West Invitational, he came in 54th place in a time of 23:48.3 and was 82nd at the SoCal Preview Meet in a time of 22:31.7… Finished in 96th place at the Oxnard Invitational in a time of 25:44.4 and opened the season with a 99th place time of 24:10.0 at the Fresno Invitational…..

Cerritos College Men’s Cross Country (2022): Came in 132nd place at the Southern California Championships with a time of 23:15.1, while his time of 25:42.2 put him in 24th place at the South Coast Conference Championships… Turned in a time of 28:54.9 to come in 189th place at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational., with his time of 23:05.5 earning him an 87th place finish at the Manny Bautista Classic… Placed 10th at the Coach Downey Classic with a time of 23:26.0, while he took 134th place at the SoCal Preview Meet in a time of 24:04.9… Took 58th place in the Fresno Invitational in a time of 23:59.0, while his time of 24:55.0 at the Redlands Invitational earned him a 94th place finish…..

Lakewood HS: Earned a Scholar Athlete Award four years in a row… While on the track and field team, he was named his team’s Distance Runner of the Year… Specialized in the 800 meters (2:06.55), 1600 meters (4:38.84) and 3200 meters (10:35.52)… As a senior on the cross country team, he qualified for the CIF Championships and was named the Cross Country Runner of the Year… Posted a personal best time of 17:28 over a three-mile course… Was a CIF alternate as a sophomore… Spent four years on the cross country team and three with the track and field team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he set a personal best time in the 1600 meters and helping the 1600-meter relay team at the league championships his senior year… Would like to transfer to a school in the area… Aspires to be either a teacher or administrator… Hobbies include hiking… Has solved the Rubik’s cube… Nicknamed “Jeff”… Has one brother – William (15)… Is the son of Joe and Amber Chmiel… Born in Long Beach, CA on January 5, 2004…..
