M. Track & Field: Falcon Olympian Ameer Webb inducted into 5CTCA Hall of Fame

Former Cerritos College three-time state champion and Olympian Ameer Webb was recently inducted into the 5CTCA Hall of Fame. While with the Falcons from 2010-11, Webb won the 100-meter and 200-meter state championship in 2011 after capturing the 200-meter title his freshman season. He still holds the school record in both the 100 meters (10.16) and 200 meters (20.33).

Ameer Webb with the Falcons in 2011 Webb (pictured, left with the Falcons in 2011) went on to compete at Texas A&M University and was the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA National Champion in the 200 meters in 2013.

He represented the United States in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in the 200 meters, where he placed sixth in the semifinals. During his career, Webb won the 200 meters at the 2016 Qatar Athletic Super Grand Prix with a meet record time of 19.85, which ranks him as the #25 performer in history. At the the 2017 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he posted a time of 20.09 seconds, thus qualifying for the 2017 World Championships in Athletics, where he ended up placing fifth.

Webb concluded his professional career with two U.S. Championships in the 200 meters (2017, 2018), while he finished third in 2019. 

Webb joins Dave Kamanski (1994) and Gary Gaudet (2008), who have also been inducted into the 5CTCA Hall of Fame.
