After two wins at the Southwestern Tournament on Friday, the Cerritos College men's water polo team remains undefeated at 7-0 on the season. The Falcons, who defeated Palomar College (21-12) and San Diego Miramar College (17-9) will play four games at the Golden West Tournament next weekend.

In the first game of the day, Cerritos opened a quick 5-1 lead after the first period and maintained that lead to 11-7 at intermission. Sebastian Rico (Montebello HS) was the offensive leader in the match with a season-high six goals, while the duo of Kobe Hurtado (Cerritos HS) and Allan Jimenez (Schurr HS) each scored four times. The Falcons scored goals in bunches and also benefitted from 12 steals on defense. Goalkeeper Rene Borja (Schurr HS) played the entire match and posted 13 blocks, with Silvestre Chavez (Downey HS) checking in with five assists.

That match was followed by another one in which Cerritos opened up an early lead. Holding a 6-2 advantage after the first period, thanks to goals from five different players. They also scored the first three goals of the second and third quarter to help expand their lead, while the goalkeeper tandem of Borja and Anthony Alonso (Warren HS) combined for six blocks. Hurtado led the team with three goals, while five other players scored twice in a balanced attack.
