As they prepare to compete in the Southern California Regional Playoffs, the Cerritos College softball team has announced that six players have received post-season honors. The Falcons, seeded #11 for the post-season, will be traveling to College of the Canyons this weekend for a best-of-three series.

Crystal Cano has a .980 fielding percentage this season Sophomore third baseman Crystal Cano (Norwalk HS/Lynn (FL) University), the team leader in home runs (13), RBI (56) and batting average (.459), was named to the 3CFCA All-State Team. In addition, Cano (pictured, left) finished third in the Player of the Year voting in the South Coast Conference and was named to the 1st Team. Her 56 RBI are third most in school history in one season, while her 13 round-trippers are tied for the fourth most. She also has a .980 fielding percentage while spending the season and third base and first base.

Also earning 1st Team All-SCC honors for the second year in a row is outfielder Joanna Perruccio (Long Beach Wilson HS). The school's all-time leader in stolen bases (66), is hitting .342 heading into the post-season and has scored 34 runs, with 22 RBI and 22 stolen bases. She also leads the state with 33 walks.

A trio of players earned 2nd Team recognition - freshman shortstop Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS), freshman pitcher/third baseman Jennifer Navarro (Warren HS) and sophomore catcher Krystal Purkey (Gahr HS). Collazo is hitting .356 on the year with six home runs, with 30 RBI, 12 doubles, 30 walks and 12 stolen bases. As for Navarro, she's batting .364 and is second on the team with 33 RBI to go along with four home runs and 10 doubles. She has a 12-9 record as a pitcher with six complete games and 59 strikeouts. Purkey is second on the team with eight home runs and is hitting .289 with 25 RBI.

Sophomore second baseman Monique Ramirez (Torrance HS) received honorable mention recognition and is hitting .322 on the year with 12 RBI and a .963 fielding percentage.
