In their final Southwest Conference match of the year, the Cerritos College wrestling team was only able to win three matches and suffered a 25-12 loss to Mt. San Antonio College at Excelsior High on Thursday. The Falcons (5-6, 1-3) will now compete in the East Los Angeles Quad in Saturday.

Picking up wins for Cerritos against the Mounties were 157-pound freshman Eddie Rogers (Martin Luther King HS), 197-pound freshman Tyler Smith (Marina HS) and 285-pound sophomore Weston Hawkins (Edison HS/North Iowa Area CC). Two of the team's losses were by three points or less, while the Falcons were pinned once.

Rogers jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the first period, including two near-falls, as he cruised to an 11-4 victory, while Smith led by as much as 5-0 after the second period before posting a 9-3 victory. As for Hawkins, he scored six team points with his first period pin and was leading 5-0 at the time the match was ended.
