Continuing to receive postseason accolades, Cerritos College sophomore Sydney May (Los Alamitos HS/UC Santa Cruz) has been named 2st Team All-American by the CCCWVCA. May, who helped lead the Falcons to a share of their first South Coast Conference title since 1997, is the first All-American for the program in 30 years. In 1994, both Colleen Jewell and Paula Makridis received the prestigious honor.

Heading into the Southern California Regional Playoffs, May, who has also served as the team's setter during their rotation, leads the team with 233 kills, while she has added 274 assists and 129 digs. She missed one match this season with an injury, but has turned in 16 double-digit kill performances, including a season-high 20 against Golden West College. The transfer from Division III UC Santa Cruz, where she was their primary setter her freshman season, has had 10 matches where she has hit at a .400 or higher efficiency.

The daughter of Falcons head men's basketball coach Russ May, Sydney has turned in three matches with over 20 assists, which includes a season-high 25 in a five-set win over Palomar College.
