The Cerritos College men's tennis team evened their record at 2-2 after their 8-1 non-conference win at Palomar College on Tuesday. The Falcons will now host Mt. San Jacinto College at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in a non-conference match.

With sophomore #1 singles player Nathan Eshmade (Kings Baptist, Australia HS) sitting out the match, it moved all of the players up the ladder. Moving into the top spot for the first time this season, freshman Amadi Kagoma Malezi School, Kenya HS) posted a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win, with freshman Nicholas Simonelli (Long Beach Wilson HS) taking over the #2 position and responding with a 6-4, 7-6 victory. Simonelli is now 2-2 on the year, with his wins coming in the #1 and #2 positions.

Freshman Milos Zoric (Gimnazija Indijija, Serbia HS) stepped into the #3 position and posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win over Chris Orbe, while freshman Sheldon Hseih (Long Beach Poly HS) picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at #4. Also winning by that score in the #5 spot was sophomore Mark Herrera (Bosco Tech HS), with freshman Edgar Munoz (Paramount HS) earning his second win of the year, a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Tom Pelletier.

The doubles pairings were all moved around, which made for some first-time pairings. Munoz teamed with freshman David Evans (Long Beach Wilson HS) for a 6-3, 6-2 win, while the tandem of Herrera and freshman TG Galit (Cabrillo HS) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 shutout. The only loss of the day came in the #1 spot, with freshmen Simon Graff (Clements, TX HS) and Jose Pacquing (Cabrillo HS) dropping a 6-4, 6-4 score in their first time teaming together.
