M. Tennis: Falcons win easily over Mt. SAC

The Cerritos College men's tennis team quickly made their way through Mt. San Antonio College in their South Coast Conference opener on Tuesday. The Falcons, who swept all six of the singles matches, recorded an 8-1 win to improve to 7-2 overall and won their sixth straight match. The team will now travel to El Camino College on Thursday for a 2:00 p.m. match.

With their 6-1, 6-1 wins, both Nathan Eshmade (Kings Baptist, Australia HS) and freshman Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kenya HS) remained undefeated in singles play, while the two teamed for an 8-1 win in doubles play. They are unbeated in doubles action this season.

As for freshman Sheldon Hseih (Long Beach Poly HS), his 6-2, 6-3 win over Adrian Peralta moved his season record to 8-1, while freshman Nicholas Simonelli (Long Beach Wilson HS) opened with a 6-1 win in the first set of his #4 singles match and went on to post a 6-4 win in the second set. Freshman Milos Zoric (Gimnazjia Indjija, Serbia HS) posted a 6-1, 6-3 win in the #6 position, with only sophomore Mark Herrera (Bosco Tech HS) getting extended to a third set. He came away with a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 win over Sang Kil.

Along with the top doubles team winning, Simonelli and Hseih earned an 8-4 win in the #2 position.
