The Cerritos College men's tennis team saw their 11-match winning streak come to an end on Friday, as Division III power Amherst (MA) College posted a 6-3 win. The Jeffs (15-2) are making a West Coast swing and split their squad into four teams and have been playing all over Southern California. The Falcons (12-3) resume South Coast Conference play on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. when they host Mt. San Antonio College.

The match started with doubles and Cerritos was leading in all three, but ended up winning just one of them. Top doubles team Nathan Eshmade (Kings Baptist, Australia HS) and Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kenya HS) were able to come away with an 8-5 win. However, the other two doubles teams went on to suffer 8-6 defeats.

Straight set wins by both Eshmade and Kagoma accounted for the other two points for the Falcons, as the duo remained undefeated on the year in both singles and doubles. Had Cerritos been able to pull off the doubles wins, they would have won the match. All four singles losses were in straight sets.
