For the second season in a row, and third time in the last four years, the Cerritos College men's basketball team has earned at least a share of the South Coast Conference South Division championship. On Friday, the Falcons (22-6, 9-1) closed out the regular season with a 75-64 win over host Los Angeles Harbor College. On Monday, the team will find out where they have been seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Last season, Cerritos reached the CCCAA Final Four.

In the win over the Seahawks (11-7, 3-7), the Falcons pulled away with a strong second half, which was aided by a starting lineup that accounted for 52 of the team's points. Sophomore point guard Jamal Heckard (Carson HS/El Camino College) led the way with 18 points, while freshman forward Chance Hunter (Inglewood HS) produced 17 points and nine rebounds while connecting on 7-of-9 field goals.

Also scoring in double-figures was sophomore guard Cody Wilkes (La Mirada HS), who scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds, with freshman guard Tawon Elston (Roosevelt HS) coming off the bench to contribute eight points, five rebounds and three assists. As a team, Cerritos was limited to just eight turnovers, which helped them in the win and clinching the title.
