Clinging to a 1-0 lead, the Cerritos College men's soccer team surrendered a goal in the 89th minute to visiting Los Angeles Harbor College, and the game ended in a tie. The draw still keeps the Falcons (10-3-2, 6-1-1) in first place in the South Coast Conference, but it also comes on the heels of a 1-0 loss to Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday. The team will now host last place ECC Compton Center at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Playing a man down after sophomore Yoni Garcia (University HS) received a red card in the 79th minute, the Falcons fought to hold off LA Harbor College, who was peppering freshman goalkeeper Thomas Yeandle (Orange Lutheran HS) will multiple shots. Yeandle, who finished the game with 10 saves, was unable to reach the header by Jose Gonzalez in the 89th minute that went over his outstretched hands, which tied the game.

Cerritos took an early 1-0 lead when sophomore Thiago Lusardi (Centro Educational Ramos HS, Brazil) deflected a high pass from freshman defender Ricardo Covarrubias (Elizabeth Learning Center HS) into the net past Bryan Hernandez. The high pass was still manageable for Lusardi, who scored his team-high 13th goal, as he raised his foot waist-level to deflect the ball into the net.

After maintaining possession of the ball for the majority of the first half, Cerritos found themselves having to hold off the Seahawks, who put six shots on net, with the majority coming after the dismissal of Garcia. The physical game also included five yellow cards, as both teams fought hard to gain control of the contest.
