Instrumental in leading the Cerritos College men's soccer team to the 2014 CCCAA State Championship, Christian Carrillo (Katella HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent with UC Irvine. Carrillo, a two-time 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection, was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman.
Carrillo led the team with seven goals and added four assists in his sophomore season, which was preceded by a freshman year where he had 11 goals and eight assists. He posted a pair of two-goal games in 2015, while he scored twice in the post-season during the Falcons state championship run the year before.
He is the first Cerritos player to sign with UC Irvine since Alex Munoz and Jonathan Rivas in 2008. The Anteaters concluded last season with a 5-11-4 record, which included eight overtime games (0-4-4).
