M. Tennis: Falcons win doubles title at ITA Tournament

Sasha Krasnov took 2nd place in singles play At the ITA Regional Championships over the weekend, the Cerritos College doubles pair of Nikita Katsnelson and Sasha Krasnov won the championship. The duo entered the tournament, which was held at the Falcon Tennis Courts, seeded #1 and in the finals, and handed Vincent Renaud and Max Blancaveaux of Cypress College an 8-5 decision for the title. The sophomore duo, who reached the CCCAA Semifinals last season, will now advance to the ITA National Tournament, which starts on October 13 in Sunrise, AZ.

The two also fared well in singles play, as Krasnov was seeded #1 and Katsnelson #3 in the 64-man draw. Krasnov defeated Renaud in the semifinals, while Katsnelson dropped his match against Blancaveaux. In the finals, Krasnov won the first set, but then dropped the next two, including a 10-5 score in the third set tie-breaker.
