La Mirada HS: Received the Matador Award as a junior and the Coaches Award his sophomore season while on the cross country team… Earned the Coaches Award as a senior and the Matador Award his sophomore year while on the track and field team… Posted a personal best time of 15:50 over a 5K course as a junior… Won the Suburban League championship in the 3200 meters (10:29) as a sophomore on the track and field team after placing second his freshman season… Also competed in the 1600 meters (4:58)…..
