A trio of Cerritos College women's basketball players have signed National Letters of Intent with four-year schools. Guard/forward Sydney Lopez (Whittier Christian HS) has signed with Hope International University, while the duo of guard Kennedi Cooper (Lakewood HS) and forward Ashley Flores (California HS) have inked with Peru (NE) State College.

Lopez was a South Coast Conference South Division 2nd Team selection and averaged 4.8 points and 5.0 rebounds a game as a sophomore. She converted 43% of her field goals and scored a season-high 11 points against Pasadena City College, while she pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds against both Los Angeles Harbor College and Long Beach City College.

She will be joining a Biola team that went 15-12 last year and lost in the GSAC Tournament semifinals. The Eagles are losing five players to graduation, including former Falcon Marissa Rendon. Lopez will be one of nine upperclassmen on the roster and will compete for either a shooting guard or small forward position.

As for Flores and Cooper, they will be going to a Bobcats team that struggled through a 6-25 season and have graduated two of their starters. The NAIA Division I team that plays in the Heart of America Athletic Conference will welcome back eight upperclassmen and look to both Flores and Cooper to help them improve on their season.

As a sophomore, Flores was a 1st Team all-conference pick who averaged 7.2 points and 7.1 rebounds over the course of the season. She converted 44% of her field goals and scored a season-high 16 points against El Camino College after opening the season with consecutive 15-point offerings. Flores pulled down double-digit rebounds nine times, including a season-high 13 boards against Long Beach City College. Cooper, a 2nd Team selection, averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds a game for the Falcons. She opened the season scoring in double figures in seven of eight games and finished the season hitting that mark 10 times. Cooper produced a season-high 16 points against Solano College and hauled in a season-high seven rebounds in three contests.
