The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Isabella Berdote, Kaya Glynn, Angelina Romero and Karina Oliveros took third place at the SCC Championships.

With the first two days of the South Coast Conference Championships in the books, the Cerritos College women's swimming team remains in third place. The Falcons have compiled 308 team points and sit comfortably in third place with one day left. The prelims will get underway at 10:00 a.m., with the finals slated to start at 4:00 p.m. at East Los Angeles College.

Just like on the first day, both relay teams finished in third place. In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of Angelina Romero, Angelica Arcos, Kaya Glynn and Jillian Crockett (pictured, left) recorded a time of 2:07.66 for their third place finish, while Glynn, Karina Oliveros, Berdote and Romero touched up in 9:05.30 for their third place team points in the 800

The most exciting finish for the Falcons on the day came in the 100-yard butterfly when Glynn finished in second place by the closest of margins. Her time of 1:07.54 was better than Isabell Ortega of Mt. San Antonio College, who touched the pad in 1:07.55. It also marked the best individual finish for any Cerritos swimmer through the first two days of the championships.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Berdote earned fifth place points with a time of 1:19.42, with Oliveros taking eighth place in a time of 1:22.04. Crockett posted a seventh place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with her clocking of 1:11.93, while Samantha Wisher was the top finisher for the Falcons in the 200-yard freestyle, as she won the consolation race with a ninth place time of 2:24.11. The 400-yard IM saw the duo of Jania Gregorio (6:06.99) and Arcos (6:07.13) finish in seventh and eighth places, respectively.
