Cerritos College sophomore Alexis Cummings (Mayfair HS) was the lone representative at the 3C2A State Swimming and Diving Championships at Orange Coast College. Cummings, who came in third place at the South Coast Conference Championships and eighth place at the Southern California Championships, took part in the 1M event on Thursday.
After completing her six dives, Cummings finished in 15th place with 129.20 points, which also earned the Falcons two team points. She just missed out on moving ahead of Ellie Radzille of Shasta College, who placed 14th with 131.75 total points. She could have moved ahead of Radzille if she was able to match her point total of 137.45 total points.
Cummings is also the first Falcon diver to qualify for the state championships since Yuridia Vela in 2013.
