W. Swimming: Cerritos finishes season with third place finish at conference championships

In the final day of the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College women's swimming team secured their third place finish with 461 team points. The Falcons saw all of their entries on the day qualify for the championship rounds of their individual races.

They collected the most points in an individual race in the 200-yard butterfly, as three of the eight swimmers in the championship round were Falcons. Kaya Glynn turned in a second place finish with her time of 2:29.02, although she was almost three seconds behind the championship time. Isabella Berdote posted a seventh place time of 2:58.37, with Jania Gregorio registering an eighth place time of 3:02.28.

It was a fifth place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke for Berdote with her time of 2:51.76, while teammate Angelica Arcos placed seventh when she touched up in 3:01.01. Cerritos saw Karina Oliveros turn in a sixth place result in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 21:33.77, while the team also had a pair of seventh place finishers. Angelina Romero was timed in 2:35.88 to take seventh place in the 200-yard backstroke, with Sarah Garcia seeing her time of 1:10.12 in the 100-yard freestyle earn her a seventh place result.

In the final event of the championships, the quartet of Samantha Wisher, Oliveros, Jillian Crockett and Berdote record a third place time of 4:12.55 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
